Strathcona County Museum & Archives’ mission is to preserve and promote the history and heritage of Strathcona County.
Description
Strathcona County Museum & Archives features pioneer-themed interpretive exhibits with hands-on accessibility and historical vignettes highlighting artifacts and local stories. Stroll down our nature walk on your way to visit an old RCMP jail cell. Create a telephone party line using our old-fashioned switchboard, then visit the barbershop with its vintage hair care machines.
Guided tours offered may include “Journey back in time…” educational booklets, artifact scavenger hunts and historical presentations.
Visitors and genealogical researchers can reference archives and oral histories to learn about family histories and community heritage. Pick up a driving tour guide to explore local historical sites, or the book Strathcona County: A Brief History, both available for a nominal fee.
